Case study

Flowers Bouquet By Anna

A responsive bilingual website for a UK-based handmade floral gift business, designed to showcase soap flower bouquets, custom event arrangements, and WhatsApp-based enquiries.

This project shows how a simple website can help a small business look more professional, explain its services clearly, and give potential customers an easy way to make contact.

The challenge

A handmade gift business needed a clearer online presence outside social media.

Flowers Bouquet By Anna creates handmade soap flower bouquets, preserved flower arrangements, wedding and christening candles, corsages, car floral arrangements, and custom gift boxes.

The business needed a simple but professional website that could explain the offer clearly, show examples of previous work, and make it easy for customers to request a custom order without needing a full e-commerce system.

The solution

A clean bilingual landing page focused on trust, clarity, and direct enquiries.

I designed and built a responsive website that presents the business in a soft, elegant, and easy-to-understand way. The page highlights the main product categories, shows real examples of the handmade work, and guides visitors towards making an enquiry.

Because the target audience includes Romanians living in the UK, the website was created with bilingual English and Romanian content in mind, helping the business communicate with both local and Romanian-speaking customers.

Project goals

What the website needed to achieve

  • Create a professional online presence for a small business
  • Showcase handmade floral products with real imagery
  • Support both English and Romanian-speaking customers
  • Make the product range easier to understand
  • Encourage enquiries through WhatsApp
  • Work smoothly on mobile, tablet, and desktop
  • Keep the design elegant, warm, and suitable for handmade gifts

Core features

What the website includes

  • Responsive landing page design
  • English and Romanian content structure
  • Hero section with clear call-to-action
  • Product/service sections for bouquets, candles, corsages, car arrangements, and gift boxes
  • Gallery section showing handmade work
  • Custom order process explained in simple steps
  • WhatsApp enquiry buttons for direct customer contact
  • Soft visual style matching the handmade floral gift niche

Technical approach

How I approached the build

I used HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to create a lightweight static website that is easy to host, fast to load, and simple to maintain. This was the right approach for the project because the business needed a clean online presence rather than a complex backend or full e-commerce system.

The layout was designed around a clear visitor journey: understand what the business offers, view examples of the work, learn how custom orders work, and contact Anna through WhatsApp.

Design decisions

Important decisions behind the website

  • Keep the structure simple so visitors can understand the offer quickly
  • Use soft, elegant styling to match the handmade gift and floral niche
  • Prioritize mobile responsiveness because many customers will visit from social media or messaging apps
  • Use WhatsApp as the main call-to-action because custom orders need conversation, colours, occasion details, and inspiration photos
  • Avoid unnecessary e-commerce complexity while the business is still enquiry-based

What I learned

This project improved the way I think about small-business websites.

The biggest lesson was that a small business website is not only about making something look nice. It also needs to explain the offer clearly, build trust quickly, and make the next step easy for the customer.

Building this project helped me practise layout planning, responsive design, bilingual content structure, visual hierarchy, call-to-action placement, and the process of turning a real business need into a simple finished website.

Business value

Why this project matters for client work

This project is important because it reflects the type of work many small businesses need: a clear online presence, a better way to explain services, and a simple path for customers to make contact.

Instead of relying only on social media posts, the business now has one clear website link that can be shared with potential customers, added to social profiles, and used as a professional reference when promoting custom floral gifts.
